Captain Marvel: Goose the Cat Funko Pop Spoils His Secret

WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Captain Marvel, in theaters now.

The cat is out of the bag -- or rather, in this case, the Flerken.

Prior to the release of Marvel Studios' Captain Marvel, popular toy and collectible manufacturing company Funko had released a full wave of Pop! figures based on characters from the film. The line included Carol Danvers in her Starforce and Captain Marvel uniforms, Nick Fury, Maria Rambeau, Yon-Rogg, Talos, Carol on motorcycle and finally, an adorable Goose the cat.

Now, following the release of the film, audiences know the movie's big twists and turns: they know about the Skrulls, they know about the Tesseract, and they know that Goose is not simply a cat, but actually a tentacled alien creature known as a Flerken. Therefore, Funko has now announced a second, more spoiler-y wave of Captain Marvel Pop! figures.

This new wave is spearheaded by a Pop! figure that brings to life a memorable, crowd-pleasing scene of the film: Goose, with his tentacles raging out, grasping the Tesseract. What's more, there is also a rarer Chase variant of the figure that features a more recognizable cat version of Goose with only a few of his tentacles reaching out.

The line of Pop! figures also includes a new version of Carol Danvers holding the lunchbox that is meant to house the Tesseract in the final battle of the film. On top of that, Funko also announced that a Pop! figure of Ronan The Accuser, as he is seen in Captain Marvel, will be a Specialty Series limited edition exclusive.

A Pop! figure of Korath The Pursuer in his Starforce uniform is currently on sale as an Emerald City Comic-Con Exclusive.

While there is no official release date for this second wave of collectibles, Funko has confirmed that it will be hitting store shelves soon.
