With Carol Danvers working with the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy to defend the cosmos, the character has the entire MCU to find a co-star for a potential Captain Marvel sequel.

While promoting the home video release of Captain Marvel, directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck revealed which MCU character they would love to see the high-flying superhero partner with next, and it's one that has already been shipped online by fans: the Asgardian warrior Valkyrie.

"There's been a lot of... look, I have no idea what the plans are for the future. But the speculation online about Carol and Valkyrie teaming up, I think, is a pretty cool, pretty cool idea," Fleck admitted in an interview with CinemaBlend.

"She's one of my favorite women of Marvel," Boden agreed.

The two characters charged together against the forces of Thanos with the other female superheroes of the MCU during the climactic battle of Avengers: Endgame. However, they did not interact directly. With Carol continuing to protect the universe with her incredible abilities and Valkyrie now leading the creation of New Asgard in Norway, hopefully the two characters will cross paths again.
