When Carol Danvers first took to the skies in Captain Marvel, she suited up in a costume that honored the comic books, but was also its own take on the cosmic superhero's outfit. However, as with any other Marvel film, the costume went through many possible designs.
Marvel Studios Director of Visual Development Andy Park recently shared an old Captain Marvel costume design, and now the artist has revealed another alternate costume -- one that was designed before Brie Larson was cast in the role.
This costume looks similar to the film's final costume, but the added presence of Carol's iconic jacket, complete with rolled up sleeves and full gloves gives a different edge to Carol. The character's signature sash completes the look,
"One of the very first design passes I did of Captain Marvel many years ago," Park explained in the photo's caption. "I actually painted a version of this as a nonspecific actor before Brie was cast. I then added her likeness once she was cast. That happens quite often bc we work so early in the film making process. "
