Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe were treated to a surprise visit from Captain Marvel actor Brie Larson during Saturday night screenings of Captain Marvel.The Marvel Entertainment Twitter account posted a video of Larson entering a theater ahead of a Captain Marvel screening in which Larson was decked out in a Captain Marvel themed tracksuit while holding a cup emblazoned with her likeness. "Hey.... I just heard that I was on the cups and popcorn and I wanted to see for myself," Larson joked before thanking the audience for coming out for the film's opening weekend. Larson made sure to drop in the Captain Marvel tagline saying, "Higher, further, faster!" while exiting the theater prior to the movie commencing. Captain Marvel is truly off to a higher, further, faster start earning an impressive A rating from audiences on CinemaScore, and is currently on track to smash initial box office estimates with a domestic opening weekend between $155 and $160 million thanks to a $61.4 million Friday night haul, including $20.7 million from Thursday night previews.

Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck from a script they wrote with Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Jude Law, Clark Gregg, Lee Pace, Djimon Hounsou, Gemma Chan, Ben Mendelsohn, Lashana Lynch, Algenis Perez Soto, McKenna Grace and Annette Bening. The film is now in theaters.
