It's been over a year since Captain Marvel blasted into theaters, making its mark on the MCU. Now, a new piece of concept art featuring Carol and Yon-Rogg has surfaced.

Marvel Studios' Director of Visual Development, Andy Park, posted the image to Instagram. The caption reads, "This is a keyframe I painted for Captain Marvel but didn’t make the 'Art of' book due to its spoilery nature. For those who don’t know- KEYFRAMES are pivotal story moments of a film our department designs & paint up before the film is shot to help the directors & producers get a glimpse of what the film could look like. It helps inspire everyone. At least that’s the hope."

Captain Marvel raked in over $1 billion at the box office, asserting Carol's place in the MCU. A sequel is planned and recently, it was announced that Candyman director Nia DaCosta would be the director for it. Currently, little is known about the film besides the fact that Brie Larson will be reprising her role as the titular character.

Written by Megan McDonnell and starring Brie Larson, Captain Marvel 2 hits theaters on July 8, 2022.
