A new image indicates Tessa Thompson will make an appearance as Valkyrie in The Marvels. On Instragram, actor Zenobia Shroff -- who plays Kamala Khan's mother, Muneeba, in the film -- posted a video of her 2021. Towards the end of the video, there's an image of her behind-the-scenes during production on The Marvels. As Twitter user @halobearers noted, one of the headshots on a board seems to be of Thompson. At this time, Thompson's appearance in The Marvels has not yet been confirmed, and it's not clear in what capacity she would appear.RELATED: Captain Marvel 2's Brie Larson Shows Off Intense Bodyweight Training[EMBED_INSTA]https://www.instagram.com/p/CYJAMFSo2Po/[/EMBED_INSTA]

Thompson first appeared as Valkyrie in 2017's Thor: Ragnarok. She later reprised her role in 2019's Avengers: Endgame, where she became the King of New Asgard. Marvel Studios has confirmed Thompson will return for 2022's Thor: Love and Thunder. If Thompson does indeed appear in The Marvels, her appearance in Love and Thunder is likely to provide some set up for that movie.

The Marvels is a sequel to 2019's Captain Marvel. Starring Brie Larson as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, that film was set in the '90s and saw the titular hero learning the truth about her past and the war between the Kree and the Skrulls. At the box office, Captain Marvel earned more than $1.12 billion worldwide. The movie also received praise from critics. Currently, Captain Marvel's critical score sits at 79 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Following that film's release, Larson reprised her role as Danvers in 2019's Avengers: Endgame and 2021's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
