Brie Larson can't say much about The Marvels, but she did discuss just how wild the sequel will be.

"I wish I could talk about it," Larson told Uproxx when asked about the Captain Marvel sequel. "I can talk about my feelings around it. I can say that… I can’t say enough about how incredible our director, Nia DaCosta, is and what an honor it was to work with her, what an immense talent she is, how much I just feel like she’s the future. And I could also say that, when I read the script for the first time, I couldn’t believe what I was reading. I was like, this is bonkers."

"It’s the thing that I love about Marvel, is that they continue to reinvent," Larson continued. "They continue to do the thing that you just would never think would be possible in these films. And they’re not afraid to go there. So I’m super excited about what we did. I think there are some huge personal achievements of mine that I’m really excited about sharing, but you know, it’s fun to have a bit of a secret. And it’s fun to know that, when this film comes out, people are going to be delighted. And I get to keep that to myself for a little bit longer."

Larson recently celebrated one year until Captain Marvel 2 arrives in theaters. The actor has been regularly sharing her workout routines for the film, and she recently explained how her own personal training reflects how much more powerful Carol Danvers will be in the follow-up film.

"In the first film, she's developing that strength, and so I was developing my own personal strength with this one," Larson said in a recent interview. "She's already got more mastery over her powers. She can fly now. And so having my body more limber, more ready for these types of movements, like wirework, which I didn't have to do as much on the first one, was the main goal."

Danvers won't be alone either, as Ms. Marvel and Monica Rambeau will join Captain Marvel for the sequel, which the franchise's name change reflects. The former will debut later this year on her own Disney+ series, while the latter gained her powers during WandaVision before heading off to space to work with Carol's old friend Nick Fury. Given that, it's clear the cosmos will play a large role in the new film, meaning Larson's tonal teases could point towards a film in the vein of Thor: Ragnarok or the Guardians of the Galaxy series.
