Netflix is also working on an anime based on the popular Splinter Cell video game franchise from John Wick's Derek Kolstad. "Adult animation is one of the most powerful ways to pay tribute to the culture and community of gaming," said Juguet, managing director of Ubisoft Film & Television – Paris. "It is truly inspiring to partner with creative talents such as Adi Shankar and Derek Kolstad to re-imagine our worlds for Netflix."

News of Adi Shankar partnering with Ubisoft was first reported in October 2019, with the prolific creator helming a Ubisoft-connected multiverse. At the time a network/platform was not known, but it now appears to be at Netflix. "Adi is such a great fan of video games. We share the same culture and references," Juguet said at the time. "It's been great to give him the freedom to do something very fresh and bold with our characters."
