Agent Carter star Hayley Atwell pitched a possible spinoff series, starring her character and Captain America, detailing the couple's life after the events of Marvel Studios' Avengers: Endgame.

As reported by The Direct, Atwell explained, "Ok, well, in my mind, Steve’s tired, and he wants to sit down, and he’s had quite a lot of time to gather a fantastic book of recipes because he’s a fantastic cook," she said. Atwell then outlined the different roles Peggy and Steve would take, noting how the former Avenger could become even more attractive to the agent. "Peggy’s busy, she’s not been waiting for [Steve]," she explained. "She’s been busy, and she’s got things to do. And the great thing is, Cap’s cool with that because he’s a feminist. He’s not insecure about that. He lets her go off and live her best life and fulfill her truest potential because he knows the contribution that she’s got to make in the world, and that makes him even more attractive to her. That’s my premise."

Despite a recent appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Peggy's future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is unclear, with no discussions as of yet in relation to when the agent or her "Captain Carter" variant will reappear. The Marvel star remains hopeful, however.

"I would love to feel that, if Marvel did find a home for her, that it's a home that feels worthy of her in terms of [her] evolution as a character and development as a character," she said. "The experience I've had in playing her has given me the most incredible opportunity to hone my particular craft in this franchise. And I want more to do and because I feel that fans deserve that."

Atwell has appeared as Captain Carter several times, first in the animated What If...? series, then in live-action in Multiverse of Madness. Neither appearance was in the main universe. Her live-action appearance took place somewhere in the multiverse, where she was a member of the Illuminati. She is killed, however, by Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, along with the rest of the group. Despite the mystery shrouding Captain Carter's future, there have been rumors that a solo Captain Carter project is being developed.

Agent Carter and Avengers: Endgame are available to stream now on Disney+, with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness to hit the service on June 22.
