The Falcon and the Winter Soldier star Anthony Mackie confirmed that the wings on Sam Wilson's Captain America costume are indeed made of Vibranium.

"100 percent, the best Vibranium CGI can buy," the actor revealed during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Colbert further joked that fans knew that Sam would be getting Vibranium wings after his old Falcon wings were ripped from his back halfway through the series.

While John Walker (Wyatt Russell) stepped in briefly as Captain America in the Disney+ series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier season finale concluded with Mackie's character officially taking on the mantle as Captain America and suiting up in a comics-accurate costume designed for him by the Wakandans.

In doing so, Sam became the official successor to Steve Rogers, aka the original Captain America. Rogers was portrayed by Chris Evans in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger, 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier and 2016's Captain America: Civil War. Outside of core Cap films, Evans reprised the role in 2012's The Avengers, 2015's Age of Ultron, 2018's Infinity War and 2019's Endgame.

Following the revelation of Sam as the new Cap, the final title card for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier also switched its wording to Captain America and the Winter Soldier, suggesting that a possible second season of the series might be in development at Disney+.

Shortly after the finale episode dropped on Disney+, news broke that Falcon and the Winter Soldier showrunner Malcolm Spellman will pen the script for Captain America 4. While fans expect Mackie to star in the film, the actor recently admitted he hasn't actually gotten the call from Marvel about the project.

"I literally found out yesterday in a grocery store," Mackie shared after the Captain America 4 news broke. "The checkout guy named Dwayne, a cool cat, he's like, 'Yo, man. Is this real?!' [holds up a cellphone] I'm like, 'I haven't heard anything.' That's what I love about working for Marvel. They call you, they're like, 'Come to L.A. We wanna tell you what's going on.' So, I'm excited to see what happens, but I haven't heard anything."

Directed by Kari Skogland, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier stars Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Emily VanCamp, Wyatt Russell, Noah Mills, Carl Lumbly and Daniel Brühl. The series is now streaming on Disney+.
