Coates' run on Black Panther (drawn by Brian Stelfreeze), one he made a successful geo-political thriller out of, has fans optimistic to see what The New York Times best-selling author has to bring to Captain America. The new creative team debuted in a Free Comic Book Day issue, which gave readers a glimpse at not only Coates' take on Steve Rogers, but Leinil Yu's depiction of the core Marvel character.

The description for Captain America #1 has Cap reeling from the Hydra takeover of the United States in Secret Empire and re-establishing himself as a beacon of hope. There's also the debut of the Power Elite, a mysterious new enemy looking to corrupt the good Captain. Captain America #1 releases on July 4, and Marvel is launching it at midnight. Check out the trailer below.
