The Iron Patriot has had a complicated legacy in the Marvel Universe, introduced with the villainous Norman Osborn under the mask before it progressed to James Rhodes and was briefly stolen by the Punisher. However, in the latest story arc in the pages of Captain America, there is a different familiar face wielding the armor: Sharon Carter.

Marvel Comics has released a preview of the upcoming Captain America #23, written by Ta-Nehisi Coates, illustrated by Bob Quinn, colored by Matt Milla and lettered by Ed Dukeshire. As Sharon contemplates her lost youth, she dons the Iron Patriot armor to rescue Steve Rogers and his squad, leading her own strike force, including Shuri and Agatha Harkness. The preview pages and standard cover illustrated by Alex Ross are below.
