Marvel's Avengers announced its weekly lineup of character skins in its Marketplace, which included a new outfit for Captain America showing off his summer body.

Publisher Square Enix shared the new Captain America outfit (or lack thereof) in its weekly War Table blog post. "[If] you can't beat the summer heat, embrace it!" the announcement read. "Captain America is ready to work on his tan in his new American Dream Outfit. Don't forget sunscreen!" The skin featured Captain America without his typical superhero outfit or any shirt at all. He did, however, wear a pair of shades and is somehow able to holster his shield to his back without any harness. The item is available in the Marvel's Avengers online marketplace this week for 900 credits.

Alongside Captain America's half-naked outfit, the newest series of skins for all of the currently playable Avengers launched in the marketplace. The Volcanic Outfit set premiered in-game for Hulk, Thor, Ms. Marvel and Hawkeye with the remaining Avengers' Volcanic suits becoming available in the following weeks. The Volcanic costumes are legendary skins and are available for 1400 credits each.

Marvel's Avengers also continued its lineup of Marvel Cinematic Universe character outfits this week with Black Widow. While all the MCU skins so far have been based on Avengers: Endgame's costuming, the newest skin for Black Widow is a tie-in for her upcoming solo film outing Black Widow. Players who purchase the skin can have Black Widow don the white version of her outfit that the character wears in the upcoming MCU film of the same name. However, controversy began over the outfit when players discovered that the playable character would keep her same hairstyle from the game rather than emulating the braided hairstyle from Black Widow.

The new marketplace update will also launch alongside the return of Marvel's Avenger's Red Room Takeover event, which was initially a limited time event during the last week of May 2021. The event included unique rewards, which could be unlocked by completing five difficult HARM rooms that have been hacked by Black Widow's foe Yelena Belova. Red Room Takeover will return to Marvel's Avengers from July 8 to July 22. The game's next major expansion, titled War for Wakanda, will launch in August and introduce Black Panther as the next playable hero.

Developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix, Marvel's Avengers is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Google Stadia.
