The minute-and-a-half teaser does a good job of summarizing what we know about Cap's story so far, running down his newly retconned status as a lifelong Hydra agent. It then brings us up to date on the latest twist in his story -- Rogers appears to be poised to take control of Hydra, deposing the Red Skull with the help of his lifelong friend, Baron Zemo.

Steve Rogers shocked the world in May of 2016 when it was revealed that the stalwart icon of American patriotism was, in fact, a Hydra sleeper agent. Not only that, thanks to the reality-bending powers of a superpower child known as Kobik, the Marvel Universe's very fabric was re-woven in such a way that Cap had always been a traitor. In short, he's not brainwashed, he's not a replacement -- for all intents an purposes, Captain America is a terrorist.

"Captain America: Steve Rogers" #8, by Nick Spencer and Jesus Saiz, is available now; Issue #9 arrives in stores and digitally January 11.
