"Captain America: Civil War" raked in $217m overseas over its second weekend. According to Deadline, this pushes the film's gross up to $494m internationally and $673.1m worldwide.

The "Winter Soldier" sequel got a boost from China, where the film opened to $95.6m this past weekend; according to the report, this makes it the #2 FSS three-day opening for a Hollywood title there. "Captain America: Civil War's" $181.8 Million Opening Continues Disney Domination

"Captain America: Civil War" is now the fifth-biggest box office opening of all time in North America, behind record-holders "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" with $248 million, "Jurassic World" with $208.8 million, and familiar team-ups "Marvel's The Avengers" with $207.4 million and "Avengers: Age of Ultron" with $191.3 million. "Captain America: Civil War" knocked off the third installment of Marvel's "Iron Man" franchise for fifth place in the all-time record books, which brought in $174.1 million. The $166 million opening of Warner Bros.' "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" earlier this year is now good for eighth place among biggest domestic openings in Hollywood history.

Though technically a sequel to "Captain America's" second solo outing "The Winter Solider," the movie boasts an impressive list of characters, including Iron Man, Black Widow, Falcon and Bucky Barnes, as they butt heads over a document called the Sokovia Accords. It also introduces several new characters, like Black Panther. The film also marks Spider-Man's Marvel Cinematic Universe debut.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan and more, "Captain America: Civil War" is now in theaters.
