"Captain America: Civil War" Expected to Gross $190m+ Domestically, $200m+ Worldwide in First Weekend

In just ten days, Avenger will fight Avenger for "Captain America: Civil War" -- and, according to Deadline, the film's box office total will be just as epic; "Civil War" is on track to earn more than $190m domestically and $200m - $230m worldwide over opening weekend.

If "Civil War" hits $190m+ domestically over opening weekend, it will rank behind its predecessors "The Avengers" ($207.4m) and "Avengers: Age of Ultron" ($191.3m), which are the third and fourth highest domestic debuts of all time respectively. If it grosses $200m - $230m worldwide, it will beat out "Furious 7" to become the sixth highest opener of all time internationally.

Though technically a sequel to "Captain America's" second solo outing "The Winter Solider," the movie boasts an impressive list of characters, including Iron Man, Black Widow, Falcon and Bucky Barnes. It will also introduce several new characters, like Black Panther. The film also marks Spider-Man's Marvel Cinematic Universe debut.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan and more, "Captain America: Civil War" opens on May 6, 2016.
