Last August, Marvel Studios underwent a major change when a company-wide restructuring made it so president Kevin Feige reports directly to Disney Studio Chief Alan Horn; previously, Marvel Studios had fallen under the often scrutinized thumb of Marvel Entertainment CEO Ike Perlmutter, infamous for his extreme frugality. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, directors Joe and Anthony Russo spoke about the shift and how "Captain America: Civil War" factored into it all.

"We've been on that [Marvel] journey from 'Winter Soldier,' and it may have been some story points from 'Civil War' that caused the civil war within Marvel," explained Joe Russo. "I think that there were years when Kevin [Feige] was absorbing the pain inflicted on the company."

Since the restructuring, the company's atmosphere has been "much healthier, happier," he added.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan and more, "Captain America: Civil War" is now in theaters.
