Although we're looking ahead to the release of “Thor: Ragnarok” and “Avengers: Infinity War," many fans are always interested reflecting on what's come before. “Captain America: Civil War” has come and gone -- in the process, becoming the top-grossing film of 2016 -- there’s still more to be seen, as demonstrated by a newly released batch of concept art.
Christian Cordella, a costume concept artist who's worked on such films as “Star Trek: Beyond," “Jurassic World” and ”The Jungle Book,” has revealed art that showcases alternate designs for the "Captain America" sequel. While they don't differ significantly from what appeared in the final product, it’s always neat to get a glimpse into the filmmaking process.
Featured are images of Captain America, Black Widow, Bucky, and some of the Soviet-era super soldiers that appeared in the film. For those who like the designs expect to see more, as Cordella was also involved with Marvel's “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," opening May 5, “Spider-Man: Homecoming," arriving July 7, and “Thor: Ragnarok," opening Nov. 3.
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, "Captain America: Civil War" stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Emily VanCamp, Tom Holland, Frank Grillo, William Hurt and Daniel Brühl.
