In Remember to Forget, we spotlight comic book stories that I wish I could forget, but I can’t, so I instead share them with you all!

Today, we look at the time that Captain America and Bucky killed one million Japanese soldiers in a single panel. Remember, the TOTAL amount of Japanese deaths in World War II was around three million.

First off, due note that this is a 1944 wartime comic book, so of course it is going to be SUPER racist. In fact, artist Vince Alascia is legitimately reserved in how he depicts the Japanese in this story, compared to how other artists would often draw them during this era. But yeah, it's still pretty damn bad and there are lots of slurs in this comic. So it's bad for that, in and of itself, but I think we all get that ALL comics were like this, so let's move past that to spotlight the unusual aspect of this comic.

It opens with some Chinese spies finding out a plan for Japan to invade the United States...

Captain America goes directly to General McArthur to volunteer to stop them. So Cap and Bucky head off for Tokyo.

They are captured and they learn that the Japenese plan to have ONE MILLION SOLDIERS in the States soon!

After they escape their guards, Captain America finds some plans and is shocked to see what the Japanese are doing...

They have built some special tunnel from Japan to the States and they have super-fast transports within the tunnel...

So Cap and Bucky commandeer a plane and fly to the other side of the tunnel and then they get as much explosives as possible and blow up the tunnel with the million Japanese soldiers inside the tunnel...

So one million soldiers dead in one fell swoop. Cap and Bucky don't even seem all that impressed.

It's like, "Okay, I guess we have to go kill another million tomorrow."
