Sharon Carter has served as the partner of Captain America for quite some time now, especially as Agent 13. However, a new person will take up the mantle starting in Captain America #25. The issue, by Ta-Nehisi Coates and Leonard Kirk, also teases the star-spangled Avenger rescuing the Daughters of Liberty from Madripoor.
During Rick Remender and John Romita Jr.'s Captain America run in 2012, Sharon was trapped in an alternate dimension created by Arnim Zola. This caused her to rapidly age compared to the normal world. More recently, she was revealed to be part of the Daughters of Liberty, a secret society with roots that travel back to the 1800's. They helped clear Steve Rogers' name when he was framed for the murder of General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross. Cap and the Daughters have also battled the mysterious Power Elite, led by the Red Skull.
