The writer of Captain America 4 said there are a lot of Marvel movies that haven't been revealed—yet.

Malcolm Spellman, the creator, showrunner and head writer of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, was revealed to be penning the script for Captain America 4 not long after the show's finale aired. The writer spoke to Murphy's Multiverse about his future role in the MCU and revealed an interesting tidbit about just how little is known by the public.

"I was surprised about how few of the upcoming Marvel movies have been announced," Spellman said. "Fans will start to become more and more clear as these projects get announced.

The writer didn't elaborate but it seems that fans have only learned a fraction of Kevin Feige and company's plans for the MCU. Of course, it's been known for years that Marvel has plans through 2025 for their films and naturally aren't revealing everything all at once. Between rumored films and shows, projects focused on Thunderbolts, Young Avengers, Namor and more have all been floated, and many of the characters have been teased in the MCU to date.

There's also the mutants, who Feige has confirmed are on their way and could have a slew of movies and shows centering on their exploits. Recently, rumors of a Wolverine Disney+ show surfaced, for instance.

In terms of officially announced movies, there is no shortage of them. Black WidowShang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten RingsEternals and Spider-Man: No Way Home all arrive this year after 2020 saw no new Marvel movies. Beyond that, new ThorBlack PantherDoctor StrangeAnt-Man and the WaspCaptain Marvel and Guardians of the Galaxy movies have all been confirmed, as have Blade and Fantastic Four.

Spellman also recently revealed that an abandoned Falcon and Winter Soldier plot might show up in a future comic, though it's not clear if he'll be the one writing it. Either way, it seems Spellman will be working closely with Marvel over the coming years to continue fleshing out the world of the new Captain America.
