A new report suggests that Captain America: New World Order might receive a new title. On Twitter, entertainment scooper CanWeGetSomeToast posted an image of Sam Wilson in his Captain America costume from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier finale with the caption "Captain America: Untitled releases a year from today!" When another user asked about the untitled part of the tweet, the scooper revealed that Marvel Studios is changing the title and went further in saying the Writer's Guild of America strike played no part in the decision. The supposed title change has yet to be addressed by any official source, so a pinch of salt is recommended. RELATED: Captain America 4 Is Setting up The Incredible Hulk Sequel We Never Got

The New World Order title was revealed during Marvel's Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, with many noting that The Falcon and The Winter Soldier's premiere episode sported the same name. While the official premise has not been revealed, the title may have been related to the return of Samuel Sterns (Tim Blake Nelson) who was last seen transforming into the Marvel supervillain The Leader in 2008's The Incredible Hulk.

What Makes Sam Wilson a Special Captain America

The fourth Captain America installment will be the first without original star Chris Evans as Steve Rogers whose Super Soldier retired at the end of 2019's Avengers: Endgame. Though Wilson lacks Rogers' physical strength, Mackie believes his character gains his power from a different source. "I think with my Cap, he's not a superhero," Mackie said. "He doesn't have a super serum, so his superpower is his humanity. So, I think with him, he has to come to the stage with a very different understanding of what it is to be a good guy or be a bad guy and what are the decisions that make you toe that line in the way that you did. So, I just see him as more of a humane Cap as opposed to a distinctive judge Cap -- [a] Cap of judgment, where this is right and this is wrong. There are decisions that make you choose right or wrong."

Other actors from The Falcon and the Winter Solider set to appear in Captain America 4 include Danny Ramirez (Joaquin Torres/Falcon) and Carl Lumbly (Isaiah Bradley). Additionally, Harrison Ford joins the MCU to replace the late William Hurt as General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross and Liv Tyler reprises her Incredible Hulk role as Betty Ross. As for Wilson's partner in Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), he is rumored to make a cameo appearance before he plays a significant role in Marvel's Thunderbolts movie.

Directed by Julius Onah, Captain America 4 opens in theaters on May 3, 2024.
