Captain America: New World Order's Harrison Ford offers everything he knows about his role, which apparently isn't all that much.

The Indiana Jones icon, who will play Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, sat down on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to plug his latest work in the Paramount+ Yellowstone prequel series 1923 and AppleTV+'s Shrinking. When the topic of his MCU debut came up, Ford shared what he knew to a certain point. "I'm allowed to tell you everything I know," he teased. "Everything. Ask me anything." But when pressed to answer questions about New World Order, he comically replied "I don't know" regarding its setting and could not tell the host about the first scene he's in because he "already knows." Having more fun with the star, Colbert let Ford make up answers when asked where he and Sam Wilson/Captain America will meet. "At a disco," Ford jested.

The MCU's New Thunderbolt Ross

In October 2022, Ford was announced as the new Thunderbolt Ross, set to appear in Marvel's Captain America: New World Order and Thunderbolts. He replaces the late Oscar-winning actor William Hurt following his untimely passing from cancer back in March 2022. Hurt originated the role in the MCU's second movie, 2008's The Incredible Hulk, and made subsequent appearances in 2016's Captain America: Civil War, 2018's Avengers: Infinity War, 2019's Avengers: Endgame and 2021's Black Widow.

For the iconic star, who left a significant mark in the Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Blade Runner franchises, Ford sees the MCU as a new challenge. "Hey, look, I've done a lot of things," Ford said. "I now want to do some of the things I haven't done." However, he would not confirm any rumors about Thunderbolt Ross' potential transformation into his alter-ego, Red Hulk.

Directed by Julius Onah, Captain America: New World Order is a direct follow-up to the events of the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Anthony Mackie reprises his role as Sam Wilson, the hero formerly known as Falcon, who -- per the events of the TV series -- has taken over the shield and mantle of his retired Avengers colleague Steve Rogers. While story details are unknown, the sequel movie will see Wilson cross paths with another familiar MCU foe in Samuel Sterns/The Leader, played by Tim Blake Nelson after a long absence from the role since the aforementioned 2008 film The Incredible Hulk.

Captain America: New World Order is set to hit theaters on May 3, 2024. But before that, Ford will be back in the fedora one last time when Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny opens in theaters on June 30, 2023.
