Several recent accusations made against comic book writer/artist Cameron Stewart claiming he has been grooming underage girls have now resulted in him being removed from an upcoming DC project.
Bleeding Cool initially reported the news of Stewart's removal from the planned DC project, which CBR has since confirmed. This isn't the only project from which Stewart has been removed, either, as his variant cover for the Image Comics series Ice Cream Man has also been canceled.
Allegations of sexual misconduct against Stewart surfaced on Twitter, with several different women sharing their stories, including artist Aviva Maï, who said she went on a date with Stewart when she was only 16 and he was in his 30s. "Took me a long time to realize what had actually happened, what he was doing, and that we were never actually friends," Maï wrote. Other accusers include comic book creator Kate Leth and actor/writer Natasha Negovanlis.
Stewart has removed himself from social media, setting his various accounts to private, and has yet to comment on the situation. He is best-known as the co-writer of Batgirl along with Brenden Fletcher ,and has also worked on major titles such as Detective Comics, Hellblazer, Catwoman and more.
