Had I known "professor of LEGO" was a career possibility, I'd have chosen a different college major (stupid journalism).

The University of Cambridge has received $6 million from the LEGO Foundation to establish a LEGO professorship within the Faculty of Education and fund the new Research Centre on Play in Education, Development and Learning.

The aim of the center, and the LEGO professor, is to study the role of play in education. The Telegraph reports the new faculty member, who will also serve as director of the center, will begin work in October.

The LEGO Foundation, which ones one-quarter of the Denmark-based LEGO Group, is dedicated to "challenging the status quo by re-defining play and re-imagining learning."
