It looks like Activision will not be revealing its next instalment in the Call of Duty video game series until later this year, but details continue to surface.

According to Video Games Chronicle, the next game in the series will be Call of Duty: Vanguard, a title developed by Sledgehammer Games for both current and last gen consoles in November. The game will return players to World War II and see the establishment of modern special forces.

Furthermore, the upcoming title will tie into the free-to-play battle royale game, Call of Duty: Warzone, which is set to transition to the World War II setting. The game has connected to the narratives of previous video games, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The upcoming addition to Warzone will feature what is being reported as the largest and most ambitious map so far and will be set somewhere in the Pacific theater of World War II.

As Activision will not be showcasing the video game at E3 this year, fans will have to wait a little longer to find out about Call of Duty: Vanguard and to see gameplay. There is speculation that the game will be revealed, just as Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, in an in-game event in Warzone.
