Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of DutyWarzone players across the globe experienced server issues while playing the popular first-person-shooters. Thousands of players reported infinite queue times when trying to get into a multiplayer match. The issue has now been fixed and players are able to access the online multiplayer again for both games.

The technical issues were reported across all platforms — Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC — in America, Europe and Asia. Downdetector reported a spike in technical issues starting at around 12 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Eastern.

It is not clear what caused the servers to go down, although it could be due to an increase in online traffic. Today is Memorial Day, and most people are off work and stuck inside due to COVID-19.

Released in 2019, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is the sixteenth main installment in the Call of Duty franchise. It is a reboot of the game of the same name that debuted in 2007. The game broke several sales records and has earned Activision over $1 billion in revenue.

Call of Duty: Warzone is a free-to-play battle royale that debuted in March 2020. It is part of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare but is a standalone game, meaning players don't need Modern Warfare to play it. In its first two months, the game has been downloaded 60 million times.
