As many brands and companies pledge to fight racial injustice, Call of Duty developer Infinity Ward laid out its plans to confront the issue head-on in the online gaming community.

"There is no place for racist content in our games," Infinity Ward tweeted. "This is an effort we began with launch and we need to do a better job. We're issuing thousands of daily bans of racist and hate-oriented names. But we know we have to do more."

In terms of online measures, Infinity Ward will add more resources to monitor and identify racist content, along with an in-game reporting system to increase hourly bans and more filters and restrictions on name changes. Other measures will include making it easier for players to report offensive names to the gaming company and issuing permanent bans to repeat offenders.

Infinity Ward concluded the note, writing, "We apologize to our players. This is our commitment to you, our fans, thank you."

The declaration came after the company announced it will delay the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Mobile due to the ongoing protests.
