Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has one of the most streamlined progression systems of any first-person-shooter to date. With the accessibility of progression opening up, it's easier than ever to show your stuff in Call of Duty. One of the biggest ways players have been able to show off their progression and skills within Call of Duty is weapon camos. Nabbing the gold and, eventually, diamond camos for any particular weapon or class are not only rewarding but also shows other players you're not kidding around.

Black Ops Cold War has plenty of things to do within its progression system, making large XP gains a frequent occurrence. Maximizing your XP gains is another story, though. One of the best ways to nab quick experience and rise to the ranks of Cold War's prestige system is through weapon progression. Unlocking new attachments, reticles and camos can really help you progress faster in the game, yet certain camo types are a little hard to understand. If you're looking to nab gold and diamond camos for your guns yet are stuck on a few of the vague requirements, here's an explanation on how to get them. Note that these camos are for weapons, not specific classes. Weapons with different sorts of utility such as sniper rifles, melee, special and launchers have their own sets of challenges, yet they're rather straight-forward compared to other classes.

Flora Camo

The Flora Camo requires players to "Kill X enemies detected, stunned, or blinded, by your Scorestreaks, Equipment, or Field Upgrades in Multiplayer." This may sound simple on the outset, but it can be rather difficult to nab the 75 required kills to complete this category. The easiest way to nab the Flora camo is by picking the Spy Plane and/or H.A.R.P. Scorestreaks, which will reveal enemy positions on your mini-map. Note that only your Scorestreaks count towards this, so you can't have an ally activate a Spy Plane while you rack up the kills.

Additionally, items such as flashbangs and stun grenades can work for this too, yet the window to nab these kills is around a second or two tops. It's additionally unknown if enemies sporting the Tactical Mask perk -- which negates flashbang, stun grenade and gas mine effects -- will be affected for getting this camo. The Field Mic upgrade can also be used, yet enemies have to be killed in the detection radius. Much like the Tactical Mask perk, it's still undecided if the Spycraft and Cold-Blooded perks will negate the Field Mic progression for the camo.

Science Camo - Negates SMGs

Killing X amount of enemies while they're taking cover from you can sound really vague, yet it's rather easy to nail these objectives once you understand them. For a kill to count from cover means that players will have to face an enemy head-on from cover. People attempting to snipe, using chest-high cover or hiding behind walls will count towards this. Killing enemies from behind while they're in cover will not count, though. While it's satisfying to get the drop on the sniper who's been harassing your team throughout the whole match, nabbing him from behind won't count towards any Science category camo.

Every other camo in Cold War is rather straightforward. Earning medals such as double kills and executing five kills in a row is as basic as weapon camo challenges come. The issue with gun progression is just not being killed first or going on a really good kill streak and getting nailed after your fourth kill. Hopefully, with this explanation of these more confusing and elaborate camos, you can start flying through progression and get your gold and diamond camos faster and easier than ever. On top of looking cool, you'll also get a much-needed XP boost too!
