Cal Slayton and Gail Simone belly up to the bar in 'Part-Time'

Official Press Release

Plano, TX, June 17, 2003 - Cal Slayton, comic book artist best known for his work on Digital Webbing's Shades of Blue, is proud to announce a collaboration with industry and fan favorite Gail Simone. Simone is the talented writer of such titles as Birds of Prey, Agent X, Gus Beezer, Simpsons Comics and Killer Princesses, just to name a few.

The two have been brought together by Dan Taylor, writer and publisher of Super Hero Happy Hour, an indy book which chronicles the after-work adventures of super heroes unwinding at their local watering hole.

The series has gained praise amongst industry pros, including Simone, who came on board to write a back-up story entitled "Part-Time" The four page tale takes a look into the life of a cocktail waitress in a bar frequented by super heroes. Simone was joined by Slayton, who gladly provided the artwork. "I jumped at the chance to work with Dan and Gail. Super Hero Happy Hour is an genuinely funny book and Gail is a tremendous talent who has made her mark in a male dominated industry," said Slayton. He added, "It was also a nice change of pace to draw something different from Shades of Blue. I really think people are gonna enjoy this collaboration."

The story will appear in Super Hero Happy Hour #4, scheduled for release in September. It is available for pre-order under Geek Punk in the July issue of Diamond's Previews. For additional information or to order online, visit their website at www.geekpunk.com.
