New photos from next week's Flash shine the spotlight on Caitlin Snow and her mother.
Last season, it felt as though nothing could go right for the Scarlet Speedster, but this season of "The Flash" looks to restore some of the delightful Silver Age comics goofiness that made viewers fall in love in the first place.
Next week's episode looks to have it all: giant monsters, Tom Felton, a heroic Iris, a hippie Dr. Wells, and family drama galore. It's the final piece of that puzzle that takes center stage in many of the newly released photos from "Monster."
In previous seasons, we've only gotten a tiny glimpse at Caitlin Snow's family life. This episode, which introduces Susan Walters as Caitlin's mother, will hopefully start to shed some light on what makes her tick, and maybe even starts to address the lingering question of her supposedly missing brother, teased by her evil doppelganger Killer Frost last season. Considering the fact that Caitlin is well on her way to a full superpowered freak-out, it seems some dramatic backstory is due.
Desperate to understand what is happening to her, Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) visits her mother, Dr. Tannhauser (guest star Susan Walters), a renowned biomedical researcher, in the hopes that her mother can provide some answers about Caitlin's growing meta-human powers. However, when Dr. Tannhauser treats her daughter like a test subject, Caitlin grows cold and brings up past wounds causing the two to have a major blowout.
Starring Grant Gustin as the Scarlet Speedster, "The Flash" airs Tuesdays at 8 pm ET/PT on The CW. The series also stars Jesse L. Martin, Tom Cavanagh, Carlos Valdes, Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Keiynan Lonsdale and more.
