There aren't many mutants fiercer than the man called Cable. Sent to a dystopian future ruled over by the immortal mutant Apocalypse to save his life, the son of Cyclops and Jean Grey clone Madelyne Pryor uses much of his vast psionic might to hold back a deadly techno-organic virus. However, that hasn't stopped him from becoming one of the greatest soldiers on Earth.
A keen strategist and fierce combatant, Cable uses all of his skills to make sure the terrible future he grew up in never happens and defend mutantkind from a myriad of threats. So, how would Cable do in battle against the heroes of the DC Universe? This list looks to answer that question.
10 Would Lose To: Swamp Thing
Swamp Thing is an avatar of the Green. This gives him complete control over all plant life. Even if his body is destroyed, he can regenerate it and get back into the fight. Super-strong, Swamp Thing is one of the most dangerous creatures on the face of the planet.
This is one of those fights where there is pretty much nothing Cable can do against Swamp Thing that would matter. Cable's mental powers wouldn't work against Swamp Thing – he doesn't actually have a brain. He couldn't use his weapons to destroy Swamp Thing – he would just regenerate. Swamp Thing, however, has too much he could do to Cable.
9 Would Defeat: Green Arrow
Green Arrow is an expert with the bow and arrow. An all-around great fighter, he's a longtime member of the Justice League as well as being the protector of Star City. Green Arrow is one of the best, but all of his skills aren't going to help him against Cable.
Even if Cable didn't use his telepathy against Green Arrow, he's been dodging bullets for years. He would be able to pin Green Arrow down with his return fire, working his way closer to him. In a hand to hand battle, Cable has an advantage over Green Arrow. It would be a good fight, but Cable would be able to take him down.
8 Would Lose To: Wonder Woman
Diana of Themyscira is one of the linchpins of the DC Universe. Super-strong, fast, and able to fly, she's armed with weapons forged by the Greek God Hephaestus. The most skilled combatant on an island of immortal warrior women, Wonder Woman is one of the greatest heroes around.
Cable's telepathy wouldn't affect her at all – Wonder Woman is a demi-god and Cable doesn't have the power to mess with the mind of a being of her stature. His guns wouldn't help any, either. Diana is just too much for Cable.
7 Would Defeat: Aquaman
The King Of Atlantis, Aquaman is the protector of the vast majority of the planet Earth. Able to communicate with sea life, he's also super strong and durable. A fierce combatant, enemies who underestimate him are taught the error of their ways rather quickly. However, Cable's telepathy gives him an advantage.
This wouldn't be an easy fight for Cable. Aquaman is bulletproof, but Cable has more than guns that shoot bullets. Unfortunately, Aquaman is fast enough to get in close and disarm Cable. In a straight fistfight, Cable loses but using his telepathy, he can take out Aquaman.
6 Would Lose To: Hal Jordan
Hal Jordan is the greatest Green Lantern of them all. Using his insurmountable willpower, Hal is able to use his Green Lantern ring to create constructs, force fields, and fire blasts of energy. His ring can cook up nearly anything he can imagine. This is a fight that Cable can't win.
None of his weapons would help Cable- Hal can defend himself any of them. Cable's telepathy wouldn't help him very much either – Hal fights a much more powerful telepath than Cable in Hector Hammond. Hal just has too much power for Cable to match.
5 Would Defeat: Nightwing
Nightwing has been fighting crime since he was 10 years old. He's pretty much done it all- been a sidekick, led teams, forged his own identity, and was even Batman for a time. Loved and respected by pretty much every hero he's ever met, Nightwing is one of the greatest heroes around. As skilled as Nightwing is, Cable can take him.
Nightwing's acrobatic abilities would allow him to avoid Cable's guns and even land some hits against Cable. However, Cable could mess with Nightwing's mind and cloud it, allowing him to take advantage of Nightwing and knock him out.
4 Would Lose To: Cyborg
Victor Stone bonded with a Mother Box and became Cyborg. Super-strong, hard to hurt, and able to control technology, Cyborg can also form one of his limbs into a sonic cannon. Over the years, he's taken his place as one of the most stalwart heroes in the DC Universe.
Cable's weapons wouldn't have an effect on Cyborg and Cyborg is much stronger than him. His mind is linked with a Mother Box, so Cable's telepathy wouldn't affect him. One blast from Cyborg's sonic cannon and Cable would be done for.
3 Would Defeat: Robotman
Robotman is the heart and soul of the Doom Patrol, which is ironic for a man with a robot body. After an accident, Cliff Steele's brain was placed in a robot body, giving him super strength and durability. Unfortunately for Robotman, it's the fact that he still has brain that would allow Cable to win.
Cable's telepathy would allow him to cloud Robotman's mind, evening up the odds a bit. Cable has fought lots of robots and cyborgs in his day, so with that little advantage, Cable would be able to destroy Robotman's body.
2 Would Lose To: Martian Manhunter
Martian Manhunter is the total package. A great leader, a fierce fighter, and armed with a vast repertoire of powers, Martian Manhunter is one of the cornerstones of the Justice League. Although his weakness to fire can be a major liability, Cable wouldn't be able to take advantage of it.
Martian Manhunter just outclasses Cable in every way. He's stronger, faster, can fly, and his telepathy is much more powerful. He can turn himself invisible and intangible. He can fire energy blasts from his eyes. Even if Cable is able to figure out his weakness, Martian Manhunter can just get out of range and blast Cable.
1 Would Defeat: Batman
The Caped Crusader is one of the best fighters in the DC Universe. A cunning strategist armed with some of the most advanced technology money can buy, Batman punches way above his weight class. He's more than earned himself his place in the Justice League. Cable, though, has an advantage – his telepathy.
All things being equal, Batman would be able to beat Cable. As fierce as Cable is, Batman has beaten men just like him before. However, Cable's telepathy would allow him to mess with Batman's mind, slowing down his reaction time and anticipating his every move. Batman would still put up a fight, but he would lose.
