Burton Returns To Old Favorites For Frankenweenie

The voice cast list of Tim Burton’s big budget remake of his original stop motion short Frankenweenie reads like a who’s who of previous Burton movies… Not that that’s a bad thing.

Deadline Hollywood reports that Burton has enlisted old friends like Martin Landau, Winona Ryder and Maureen O’Hara to voice his animated movie about a man who brings his dead pet dog back to life after an accident. Martin Short will also lend his talents to the production, playing multiple roles (as will O’Hara). I know, I know; I’m as shocked as you are that both Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter aren’t involved.

Frankenweenie is set for a 2012 release.
