The first season of Burn The Witch was a success, expanding on what worked well in the one-shot, such as the world-building and Ninny and Noel's partnership. It also toned down some of the things that didn't work, such as Balgo's rampant perverted nature. It led to a very enjoyable four chapters, making it unique enough to be different from Bleach, Kubo's other work.

There were quite a few plot hooks left out there by the end of the final chapter, making the wait for season two a drag. Here are some of the things you can expect once new chapters drop.

10 More Depth To Balgo

It seems a given that the character, while more than a little bit of a perv, has a key part to play in the story. It's unlikely we will see to what degree that is right away, but it's a good bet he will continue to grow as a character. You already saw a good bit of that from the one-shot to the first season. Much of his antics were more subdued or toned down, and he was less one-note than before. It'll be interesting to see where they take his ability to draw out dragons as well.

9 Noel Showing Emotions

noel from Burn the Witch

When Noel was first introduced, she didn't show off a whole lot of emotion outside of being annoyed at what Ninny called her. Aside from that, she felt like someone who just clocked in and out to do her job and little else. In season 1, that started to expand, especially at the end when she surprisingly showed affection towards Balgo, hugging him after she found out he'd no longer be hunted. It's doubtful it will lead to any sort of relationship, but it'll still be interesting to see Noel open up more.

8 Focus On Ninny & Macy's Relationship

The way they have it set up now, each girl will be forced to play babysitter to a Dragonclad. With Noel's hands full with Balgo, Ninny will be in charge of Macy, and with that, you can expect Kubo to delve further into their relationship together.

It's unclear if Macy has romantic feelings for Ninny or if it's just the sort of infatuation that many idols have to deal with. In either case, you can expect progression here and likely a fair bit of Ninny running her mouth.

7 More Backstory On Billy

We aren't going to get the full pie here, but another slice beyond just mentioning him as the son of a hero is needed. He managed to essentially one-shot Cinderella after Bruno, one of the Top Of Horns, struggled with it. That needs a little explanation to it, even if it's just a glimpse at what his dad was like. It's clear he's going to be a major player going forward, and teasing us with a little more information about him is the way to go.

6 Learning About The Different Divisions

We already have a good handle on what the Pipers can do, the same true of the Sabers. What we don't know is what the six divisions do beyond what their job title entails. With the introduction of Top Of Horns, it makes sense to see other members of their respective divisions as well, likely setting up a moment of exposition by someone like Billy on what each does. While exposition is never fun, it's necessary for terms of the continued world-building the show has to do.

5 Top Of Horns Action

These guys are going to act as the captains of Wing Bind, being the top tier fighters in the manga, at least to start with. Bruno was just the taste of that, showing off both his explosive personality and the array of abilities a member of the inks can pull off.

It wouldn't be shocking to see another of the seven-step up to the plate. Tronbone or Sullivan are good bets on being the ones we see in action next, with Wolfgang likely being the last of the bunch.

4 More Dragons

Dark Dragons have been the primary enemy in the series, and it doesn't seem like that's going to stop being the case anytime soon. They will continue to be a thorn in the side of Ninny and Noel, especially with a walking beacon strolling around with them in Balgo. To what degree is what remains to be seen. It wouldn't be shocking if season 2 starts with a more minor threat before a second Marchen shows itself, helping build them as the major enemies they should be.

3 Marchen

Speaking of Marchen, expect that name to linger around for some time. It's doubtful they are the big bads of the series, but they are the current ones that need to be dealt with. With Cinderella taken out of commission, that only leaves six more left, all of which will likely be far greater in strength than Cinder was. Given her connection to Macy, it'll be interesting to see if Cinderella is truly dead or not, considering the depths of the Marchen powers haven't been fully delved into yet.

2 Saka Rynn

Burn-the-Witch

He's the lone Top Of Horn who wasn't present at the meeting and in charge of the preservation of dragon corpses. Considering that he now has a Marchen in his position, it'll be interesting to see how Saka and the Patchworks division as a whole come into play throughout the story. If done right, he could end up an Aizen level villain or a mysterious scientist in the vein of Urahara. In either case, he's going to have a big role in the plot to come.

1 Additional Dragonclad

With Balgo and now Macy as confirmed Dragonclad, it wouldn't be shocking if a third made their appearance. They shouldn't be put into the care of Ninny or Noel either. Making them either a fugitive or antagonist would be an interesting call to make as it'd force the girls into a tough decision. It'd help avoid them burning through Marchen at too fast a rate as well. Dragons that legendary shouldn't ever be taken out with ease.
