With a new Bumblebee trailer set to drop tomorrow, two new teasers have revealed the Generation One versions of Optimus Prime and Soundwave on Cybertron.The first clip shows Optimus, in his square-chested G1 form, in a hologram relaying a message. "Bumblebee, our war rages on," Optimus says. "You must protect Earth and its people." Later in the clip, Optimus faces off against Soundwave, who is sporting his signature blue color scheme and microcassette recorder transformation. This comes as great news for fans of old who wanted to see the Autobots and Decepticons looking more like their cartoon counterparts, as Michael Bay's films modernized them quite a bit. Set in 1987, the film is a precursor to the storyline Bay started in 2007, so it makes sense their looks would fit the time period.

A second teaser on the playful relationship between Bumblebee and Hailee Steinfeld's Charlie Watson as she gets him acquainted with the planet via a game of hide-and-seek. The scene seems to reiterate Knight's statements that the film will be much more warm and playful than Bay's movies.

Directed by Travis Knight (Kubo and the Two Strings) from a script by Christina Hodson, Bumblebeestars Hailee Steinfeld, John Cena, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Pamela Adlon, Jason Drucker, Abby Quinn, Rachel Crow, Ricardo Hoyos, and Gracie Dzienny. The film is scheduled for release on December 21.
