The adorable and delicious Bugsnax finally arrives on PlayStation and PC. This Pokemon Snap and Animal Crossing fusion brings puzzles and cute animals to the forefront of a brand new adventure.
Players take on a Grumpus journalist’s role, trying to understand the secrets behind Bugsnax and the explorer Lizbert Megafig. She has been missing for some time, and it’s up to us to find out what happened to her. Learn to catch Bugsnax, feed the townspeople and help solve their problems with our tips and tricks for new players.

Lizbert and thirteen other Grumpus characters built the town of Snaxburg. Each of them holds a piece of the story behind the city and what happened before your arrival. Every time you meet a new character, they will be skeptical about your motives. After gaining their trust, the Grumpus will be available to interview.
Interviewing characters will help you piece together the story and get you one step closer to finding Lizbert and the rest of the townspeople.
Explore and use your SnaxScope
Within each area, you’ll encounter different Bugsnax. The only way to capture them all is to gather information on them. The SnaxScope is given early in the game and allows you to begin a catalog of which bugs can be found in a given area.
Once cataloged, finding Bugsnax is as simple as going to a specific area at a particular time. As mentioned above, talking to the townspeople will sometimes unlock a silhouette of harder-to-find Bugsnax and help you find them later. For instance, the legendary Mama Mewon is lost until you help Chandlo get swole.
Get Saucy
Sauces are a Bugsnak’s best friend. Just like in real life, the sauce can make any dish tastier, so it makes sense that Bugsnax love specific sauces. The sauce slinger tool allows you to bait out Bugsnax from their standard roaming patterns and will become easier to catch.
The Fryder is an excellent example of a saucy fiend. Fryders love to hang out on the top of caves but will explore the floor if you put some ketchup on the ground.
Throughout the game, you’ll find more sauces to better your chances of capturing Bugsnax. Luckily our friend Wambus will always have a fresh stock of sauces in his garden. The more sauces you find on your adventure, the more sauces Wambus can grow.
Use Multiple Tools
Throughout the adventure, you’ll acquire a lot of tools to help you capture delicious treats. There are already two mentioned above, but you’ll receive seven more. Each device will assist another tool.
For example, using the Sauce Slinger to bait Bugsnax to another location works excellent if you can lure them towards your Snak Trap. The Lunchpad can help launch your Snax Trap high into the air to capture a lot of flying Bugsnax, and the Snakgrappler can grab your Snax Trap from a distance. Finding new ways to use all of your tools is the most fun puzzle in the game.
Use Bugsnax against Bugsnax
Among the tools you find in your adventure, sometimes your only option is to use another Bugsnak to help you capture a different Bugsnak. One of the funniest captures utilizing this technique is the Poptick. When finding them in the wild, the Poptick will usually be a kernel. You’ll have to get another Bugsnak to set them on fire so that they can pop. Only a popped Poptick is capable of being ensnared in a Snak Trap. Keep this idea in mind when looking for small and aggressive Bugsnax.
Keep Catching and Donate
Catch Bugsnax as often as possible. You’ll start the game with the ability to hold six Bugsnax in your bag, but as the game progresses, you’ll have to capture multiples. Since certain quests ask for a lot of Snax, it’s best to increase that backpack space.
Gramble Gigglefunny loves Bugsnax more than just about anyone. He collects them as family. Bring Gramble back to Snaxburg to open his Bugsnak ranch. As you gather more Bugsnax, you can donate them to his farm and increase your inventory.
