Midtown Comics in New York City will present Amber Benson and Anton Strout signing their respective new novels.

Best known for her role as fan-favorite Tara Maclay on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Amber Benson is also a novelist. Serpent's Storm (Ace Mass Market Paperback Original; February 22, 2011; $7.99) is the third installment of her exciting urban fantasy series that began with Death's Daughter (Ace 2009). Calliope just wants to make it big in the Big Apple like any other working girl. But Callie is also Death's Daughter, no matter how much she tries to stay out of the family business. And now her older sister has made a deal with the Devil himself to engage in a hostile takeover of both Death Inc. and Heaven-once they get Callie out of the way.

Amber Benson signed Death's Daughter at Midtown Comics in June 2009, Cat's Claw in February of 2010, and we're thrilled to have her back.

DEAD WATERS (Ace Mass Market Original Paperback; February 22, 2011; $7.99) is the fourth installment of the Simon Canderous urban fantasy series for Ace Books by Anton Strout. Mr. Strout was born in the Berkshire Hills mere miles from writing heavyweights Nathaniel Hawthorne and Herman Melville and currently lives in the haunted corn maze that is New Jersey (where nothing paranormal ever really happens, he assures you). He is the co-creator of the faux folk musical Sneezin' Jeff & Blue Raccoon: The Loose Gravel Tour (winner of the Best Storytelling Award at the First Annual New York International Fringe Festival). In his scant spare time, his is a writer, a sometimes actor, sometimes musician, occasional RPGer, and the world's most casual and controller-smashing video gamer.

Midtown Comics opened its first store in 1997, and is now the industry's leading retailer of comic books, graphic novels and Manga, with its online store as well as three landmark NYC locations in Times Square, Grand Central, and Downtown.
