WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Buffy the Vampire Slayer #20, by Jordie Bellaire, Jeremy Lambert, Ramon Bachs and Raúl Angulo, on sale now.

The Scooby Gang of the BOOM! Studios Buffyverse has been growing and evolving, with new heroes joining the group while contending with former allies turned villainous like Xander. Two more allies just met the rest of the group and might be able to bring some backup to the heroes or bring in new levels of drama.

Robin Wood just introduced Faith and Wesley to the rest of the Scoobies in Buffy the Vampire Slayer #20, setting up a larger group of Buffyverse heroes who can try to contend with the myriad threats currently spreading throughout Sunnydale.

Faith made her new Buffyverse first appearance in Buffy the Vampire Slayer #19, helping protect a stunned Robin Wood while he's on patrol and fighting a number of different vampires. However, it becomes quickly apparent during a conversation with Robin and Wesley that she has no idea of what vampires really are. She reveals that she only believes that she's dealing with "bad guys" while traveling the country. She's quickly defined as a calm woman and is far more put-together than her television-counterpart. However, she still hasn't revealed the exact reason she's made her way to Sunnydale, or why she left Boston in the first place. The whole time though, she's been followed by Wesley, the young man set to be her Watcher.

In the original Buffyverse, Wesley Wyndham-Pryce was a Watcher assigned to Buffy and Faith in the third season of the series after Giles was fired by the Watchers Council. Introduced as a stuffy and by-the-books Watcher, he eventually also left the order after the chaos of Faith's tenure as a Slayer, which set him up to move to Los Angeles and join with Angel Investigations to fight demons outside of the Hellmouth. In the current Slayerverse, Wesley is a young member of the Watchers Council, haunted by the ghost of Ethan Rayne and initially serving as a researcher for the Council. But after a third Slayer is called into action, Wesley is assigned to serve as her Watcher. Arriving in America, Wesley quickly finds Robin and Faith, convincing them to take him along to visit the other members of the Scoobies.

After arriving at the Sunnydale High Library, the pair end up discovering the Scoobies during a particularly harsh batch of in-fighting: Giles tries to confront Willow over her meeting with the corrupted Xander, which sets off a potential conflict between Buffy and Willow. Meanwhile, Kendra brings up how Rose had been with Willow while she was performing a spell, setting up Kendra to become a bit jealous over the former couple. There's also the question of the mysterious amulet Willow was given by Anya, who seems to have her own machinations in motion for the city.

With the Scoobies sniping at each other and the various villains circling around them, having a third Slayer and another Watcher join the group might give the Scoobies an additional edge in future conflicts, which will likely come in handy soon since Giles is set to be the next Watcher targeted by a demonic force.
