Buffy the Vampire Slayer is perhaps one of the most iconic shows of the '90s. Buffy was your stereotypical high school girl with one odd exception; she was chosen to fight off vampires and demons as a sole protector of Earth. Out of all the wonderful things to come from this show, one of the greatest was when Buffy found out she was no longer the only Slayer. A deadly experience triggered another Slayer to be present, something that had never happened before.

Faith was the entire opposite of Buffy; she was more than rough around the edges, she was impatient and easily swayed when someone applied just the right amount of pressure. It took some time for these two to even become close to a duo, but alas, it was no meant to be. Faith went down a dark path that Buffy couldn’t follow. Stories like this are what made Buffy so compelling to watch. People adored not only how action-packed and sometimes adorable the show was, but also the drama that kept them on the edge of their seat and coming back for more. With that in mind, it’s time for us to give you a list of 15 of the best Buffy and Faith memes.

15 WE’RE ALL CEREAL GUY

How about the first time we ever saw the possibility for more than one Slayer? Before Faith, there was Kendra Young. She appears after Buffy technically dies, starting the conundrum of the world having more than one Slayer. Unlike Buffy, Kendra finds this position to be an honor rather than a curse and she takes her job very seriously, especially since she’s been trained even before she was called.

Unfortunately, Kendra passes and Faith is later called. The struggle between the two is clearly unnerving, but it certainly does get sad when Faith is gone. Afterwards, we’re shown even more Slayers who’s potential has been activated into full power and need a teacher. It feels like the more Slayers we saw at one time, the better the show got.

14 SHE SAVED THE WORLD… MORE THAN ONCE

Buffy has saved the world on multiple occasions and more often than not, she’s never received praise for it. Thinking back to the earlier days in the show, Buffy had barely anyone to talk to about her unfortunate circumstance as the Slayer. All she ever really wanted was to be a normal high school girl with normal love interests and normal friends. Of course, Buffy would later grow out of this, but that doesn’t mean that her school days were easy if at all enjoyable.

She’s missed out on a lot because of her time as the Slayer, and we're sure all fans can recall her graduation day with ease. It’s at moments like these when we should all thank Buffy for her hard work killing demons and vampires, when she’s not dating them that is.

13 WE HAVE FAITH

We cannot forget Faith! She was one of the most memorable character in the Buffy universe and her story was touching to most, even when she did get into some massive trouble. This meme calls to us because you really do need to have a little faith; something Faith never got, ironically. What made people love Faith was the fact that she was so strong and always trying to move forward. Even when she made bad choices, her reasons were always out of the need and want to be loved and admired the way Buffy was.

It’s sad to say that Faith’s road to life, and sometimes death, was never an easy one. She never really got the life that Buffy did, but throughout the shows and comics, her position did get better. Her life has always been hard, but with a little faith, the good times do come.

12 WHO HAS RESPONSIBILITIES?

Certainly not us! At least, that’s what we’re telling ourselves. Of course, the best part about this meme is that Buffy usually wanted to ditch her responsibilities as the Slayer in hopes of being a normal teenage girl, even if it was just for one night. From her time in high school, going out to clubs and sneaking off with Angel was really her only means of escaping her tough reality. And who could blame her?

Buffy did have Giles, which was sort of where her mischief came to and end. Giles was always pretty strict with her, but if we recall when his duties were stripped from him, there are worse guys out there to be your Watcher! Thankfully, he’d let Buffy be a regular girl every once and a while.

11 SHE DID GO EVIL THOUGH

Of course, we said that there was a lot of missteps in Faith's development as a character. Like, a lot. She did side with the mayor for a long time, which also ended up in her being pretty much dead, and when she came back she had a bone to pick with Buffy. Faith’s weakness has always been her want to be loved and wanted, which usually leads her to the embrace of villains who are using her.

Another big character flaw was her jealousy of Buffy. This scene said a lot about how she truly felt, all jokes aside. With two slayers in the same territory, things often got more than rough and tensions ran high. Still, in this conversation Faith doesn’t seem too banged up about the whole evil-killing-people thing!

10 WE DON’T NEED NO EDUCATION

Speaking of being a normal teenage girl, Buffy also really hated the “school” aspect of going to high school. She was usually really bad with her grades, which wasn’t entirely her fault since she was out every night saving the world from vampires, but she also didn’t like the effort that went into it. A lot of kids are like Buffy in that respect, but Buffy also has supernatural powers and more than just a school bully.

Remember how graduation ended with the mayor turning into a giant worm-like demon and pretty much demolished the entire school? Even though that wasn’t entirely Buffy’s fault and she did end up saving both the world and her student body, the biggest perk to come out of it was the school being destroyed. Talk about a send off into the real world!

9 JUST SLAYIN’

We all want to be Slayers like Buffy. Whether it’s kicking vampire butt or being the queens we truly are inside, anyone can slay. Buffy was truly an icon when it came to being a female superhero. A lot of times, really girly or feminine attributes are given the impression that they’re “weak”, but Buffy was anything but. She could dress amazing, love pink and still drive a stake into a demon’s heart.

If you want a role model that slays both looks or attitude wise while also literally slaying, we suggest turning to Buffy. Perhaps one of her most notable attributes was that she could save the world while still looking like she just walked out of a salon. Women don’t want diamonds, women want the power to do that.

8 FAITH CANNOT BELIEVE IT

Faith could not believe half the stuff people said to her every. Not that what people said about or even to her was always good, but she used to have a very grounded view about how the world worked. Usually she seemed surprised by the things Buffy said. Despite thinking Buffy was always a goody two shoes, Faith also got both surprised and hurt by some of the accusations the small blonde would make about her.

Faith has always been rough, but that doesn’t mean she’s not a human being. The biggest reason she had a chip on her shoulder was because people often looked down on her, or at least she thought that. If someone’s talking bad about you, just send them this meme; it should solve your problem.

7 OH, THE DRAMA!

Buffy was always just a little dramatic. But that’s one of the reasons viewers loved to check in on everyone’s favorite Slayer when it originally aired; and even now! Crime fighting is more than cool, but Buffy always had an interesting personal life that was full of drama even after she left the halls of her high school. Just look at her college days and how that turned out, or even her weird relationship, which was simultaneously charming, with Spike.

If someone tries to start drama with you, it’s probably best to just walk away. On the other hand, if you’re Buffy, you might give them this face and decide it’s time for them to go sleep with the vampires. Too much? Not for Buffy.

6 HOME TO MOTHER

Say what you want about Faith, but she’s still an amazing Slayer and person. Not all of us can just be good like Buffy, especially when you’ve had the life that Faith has had since she was young. But she learned and grew from her past and her mistakes to become the person she is now. Her road to hell was paved with, somewhat, good intentions, but she brought herself a long way.

Buffy was a dream girl for a lot of people, but Faith is also mega crush worthy material. The bad girl act is one thing, but the development is what we’re really looking at here. Would you bring her home to meet your mother? If not, we have no problems bring her home to ours!

5 LIKE YOU USED TO

Faith and Buffy have always had a very rough relationship, but eventually Faith wants redemption and Buffy learns to forgive. This is a kind of relationship that doesn’t quite constitute as a friendship but does give off mutual respect. The best part about Buffy and Faith’s relationship is that they teach each other something, and it’s not always about being a better Slayer.

Faith learns that it’s okay to be a Slayer in her own way and that she doesn’t have to be Buffy to be good. Buffy learns that not everyone has it easy and while her own life is difficult, Faith has had it worse. There’s a level of compassion that makes their relationship unique when it comes to just the two of them.

4 SOCIAL MEDIA

If you’ve ever had strict parents growing up, you know exactly what this meme is talking about. A lot of people, especially kids or young adults, had a social media account for just family and maybe close friends while having a second account to just goof off in. We all have things we’d rather our parents and grandma probably didn’t see; new relationship, nights out we probably weren’t supposed to be at, maybe a rant or two on why everything in life is against you…

Buffy’s face in this meme captures that feeling perfectly. There’s this feeling like someone just punched you in the gut or made you swallow ice. Did you ever have a mom find your second account? Not every memory of our online lives are happy ones!

3 YOU’VE NEVER… WHAT?

Have you ever had a friend that didn’t watch Buffy? Even if they were really young when the show originally aired, surely they watched it online or on a streaming site right? Right? If they’ve never seen Buffy, they’re already a step behind the times. We’re sure your face was similar when you heard the grave news.

However, there is a silver lining to this little issue; Buffy marathon! If your friend has never been a watcher, or watched casually, there’s always room for personal growth. All it takes is a couple weekends of the two of you sitting there, eating junk food and crying your eyes out. They get to finally have the full Buffy experience and you get to relive every heartbreak you never wanted to!

2 THE WEEKENDS AND MONDAY

Who doesn’t look forward to a fun weekend full of friends and drinking? Obviously not Angel in this meme. Taking care of a hungover Buffy seems like that’d be one of the hardest jobs in the world; even harder than being the Slayer herself. Of course, even when they no longer were together, Angel always cared about her well-being, so we're sure her Mondays weren’t too bad.

Altogether, if you’re hoping to go out this weekend, we suggest maybe taking it a little easy on the drinks. You really wouldn’t want to end up looking like a half dead, or just straight up dead, Buffy. Unlike her, we highly doubt you’ll come back from the grave. That is, unless, you have a super how vampire boyfriend, then maybe.

1 YOU DON’T LIKE BUFFY?

Of course, not seeing Buffy and hating the show are two very different things. If you have a friend that doesn’t like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, not only are they completely wrong, but they’re also not a true friend. Everything about the Buffy universe is amazing, from the show to the comic books. Our recommendation is to look at this meme, look at your friend, and ask yourself if you really need that kind of negativity in your life.

Buffy was a real game changer for its time and its popularity wasn’t without reason. It had everything you could ever want in a '90s show: action, cheesy romance and iconic '90s dress with music included. If you didn’t like Buffy, we’re not sorry that you’re totally wrong.
