In the comics, both Falcon and the Winter Soldier have carried the mantle of Captain America, and -- in "Captain America: Civil War" -- they almost carried the shield, too. A deleted scene from the airport fight sequence shows Bucky and Falcon pass Cap's shield to each other while Cap is down.

Although directors Joe and Anthony Russo both loved the sequence, it fell victim to the length of the scene and was eventually cut. "The airport sequence was obviously complicated," Joe Russo told Entertainment Weekly. "We wanted to track everybody's arc and we felt like it was a hair too long, and that beat was coming at a spot when the energy was dropping."

"We actually made that up on set. It was not scripted," he added.

Additionally, another deleted scene featuring Helmut Zemo has surfaced online. This brief sequence shows Zemo meet up with Dr. Broussard, the analyst sent in to observe Bucky after his capture in Germany. Dr. Broussard -- played by Joe Russo himself -- eventually falls victim to Zemo's plan, as Zemo murders him to take his place.

Fans will get to relive this moment when "Civil War" arrives on home video this September. "Captain America: Civil War" will be released on digital HD platforms and the Disney Movies Anywhere app on September 2; the film will be available on Blu-ray, DVD and on-demand on September 13.
