Sausage Party producers Point Grey Productions founders Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are developing an adult animated film based on the Maximum Fun 2018 podcast, Bubble.

The comedic 10-episode sci-fi podcast was created by Jordan Morris, who will be adapting the screenplay for the film. It followed a group of monster killers, brought together by an app called Huntr, struggling to make ends meet and find love in a nightmarish version of the gig economy.

Rogen and Goldberg will be partnering up with Sony Pictures Entertainment and producer Matt Toman, who worked with them on Hulu's Future Man. Kyle Hunter, Ariel Shaffir, James Weaver and David Manpearl will serve as the executive producers on the comedy film, alongside Maximum Fun and Morris who will be attached as co-executive producers.

The podcast's original cast consisted of Allison Becker (Parks and Recreations), Keith Powell (30 Rock), Cristela Alonzo (Cristela), Eliza Skinner (The Late Late Show) and Mike Mitchell (Love), with guest stars Judy Greer, Martin Starr and more. The podcast served as the first scripted comedy podcast from Maximum Fun.

Sausage Party was a huge success for Sony in 2016. The raunchy adult comedy, following a sausage named Frank and his group of friends who have just discovered the horrifying truth that they will all eventually become meals, brought in $140.7 million worldwide on a mere $19 million budget.
