It turns out Wolverine wasn't the only one who snuck a cameo into "X-Men: Apocalypse" as it's been revealed that director Bryan Singer appeared briefly on-screen alongside the Canucklhead in the Weapon X sequence.

Appearing on the Empire Film Podcast (via Screen Rant), Singer discussed his appearance in the film that he admits many people probably didn't notice: "I have a little cameo, I'm the guy with the machine gun...screaming. When I look at it, I couldn't recognize myself so I knew no one else could. But it was cool to get killed by Wolverine. It's now one of the many things I can put on my resume."

The "Apocalypse" easter egg wasn't Singer's first time in an "X-Men" film, as he appeared briefly in "X-2" as a prison guard and in "Days of Future Past" as someone filming Mystique's confrontation with Bolivar Trask, among many other cameos over the years.

Discussing Hugh Jackman's cameo, Singer said it was done in reshoots because Jackman was preparing for "Wolverine 3" during "Apocalypse" filming: "We went back later to film the Wolverine segment because Hugh was training for the next Wolverine sequel and we wanted him in a certain kind of shape. At first, Hugh was reticent to do it, but once I explained it to him, what the scene is and why it's there, he agreed to do it over the phone, which is unusual. Usually there's a bit of negotiation involved, but he said 'You can call my agent, but I'm in, I love it.'"
