With Bruce Campbell lobbying himself for a villainous role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, fan artist BossLogic has imagined what the star would look like as Mister Sinister.

Now that Campbell has thrown his hat in the ring to play the big bad, BossLogic has drawn the Sam Raimi favorite as Mister Sinister. Posting on Instagram, the artwork shows half Campbell's face and half what he'd look like as the famed X-Men foe. Even though Mister Sinister is best-known causing trouble for Charles Xavier's gifted youngsters, there's no escaping what the character could mean for the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole.

Doctor Strange 2 will head into a new branch of horror for the MCU, meaning someone like Mister Sinister would be right at home. Villains like Nightmare and Doctor Voodoo have been rumored to be part of the upcoming sequel to Scott Derrickson's 2016 movie.

With Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness likely to explore the real potential of the Multiverse after the idea was teased in Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home, Raimi has the freedom to go in a number of different directions. Another popular idea sees Campbell suit up as an alternate version of Mysterio, owing to the fact that back when Raimi was directing Sony's Spider-Man movies, the Evil Dead superstar was rumored to play Mysterio in the canceled Spider-Man 4.

The idea of Mister Sinister had been teased throughout the X-Men movies since 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse, but was never quite realized under 20th Century Fox. Apocalypse's post-credits scene teased Nathaniel Essex, aka Mister Sinister, and producer Simon Kinberg confirmed it was intended to set up the future of the franchise. Kinberg directed 2019's Dark Phoenix, and while some fans though Jessica Chastain would be playing a gender-flipped Miss Sinister, it ultimately proved to be hearsay.

While not quite part of the MCU, Mister Sinister was reportedly going to be a part of Josh Boone's New Mutants and Jon Hamm was rumored to be cast in the role. As viewers wait patiently to see how the X-Men will be incorporated into the MCU, the Doctor Strange sequel is an easy place to introduce mutants without causing too many plot holes. Whether as Mister Sinister, Mysterio, or any other Marvel villain, Bruce Campbell would be a welcome addition to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
