As it turns out, Bruce Campbell is a fan of director Kevin Smith's Mallrats. The Evil Dead actor recently reacted to the news that Smith intends to create a sequel to the cult favorite by expressing his interest in joining the movie."Kevin. Can I play the Milk Man? Seriously," Campbell wrote on Twitter.Smith responded to Campbell's request with a promise that he has a role Campbell was "born" to play: himself. "The role I have for you in Twilight of the Mallrats is the part you were born to play: Bruce Campbell himself!" he replied. "In a world where Brodie's biggest hero Stan Lee is gone (but never forgotten), he's gonna need all his other heroes. And Brodie loooooves Evil Dead 2 & Ash!"
The writer-director announced his intentions to pen the movie, which is currently titled Twilight of the Mallrats, in a recent post on Instagram. He also revealed he is working concurrently on Clerks III, noting how "we'll see which flick will be my first film of the roaring 20s!"
Directed by Smith, his latest movie, Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, stars himself and Jason Mewes. Jason Lee, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Brian O'Halloran, Val Kilmer, Melissa Benoist, Jason Biggs and Fred Armisen also appear.
