Bruce Campbell, who is set to appear in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, opened up about the film's reshoots.

During a recent meet-up with a fan, Campbell let slip that while he did shoot a scene for the second Doctor Strange movie, he's unsure whether it made it into the final cut. "The deal with Doctor Strange is interesting," said Campbell. "A majority of the film was reshot extensively, so I have no idea what's in there and what isn't. I did a cool scene with a character that's been beloved for years, and… we'll have to see what ends up in the movie. I don't know if it's still in there. It's a pretty cool part."

While the actor doesn't divulge what the reshoots entailed, his claims do corroborate previous reports that Multiverse of Madness has undergone rigorous reshoots. Benedict Cumberbatch, who will reprise his role as the titular Sorcerer Supreme, noted that the process was essential to achieving the film's full potential. "We're in the middle of reshoots and we're working incredibly hard to make a schedule work to realize the full potential of the film -- bits that we want to do better but also bits that were just impossible to do on the day because of logistics, COVID, etc.," explained Cumberbatch in November 2021.

While Campbell's role in Multiverse of Madness is still unknown, many fans expected the actor to make an appearance. The actor is close friends with director Sam Raimi, appearing in many of his films since It's Murder!, their first production in 1977. While Campbell is largely known for playing Ash Williams in the Evil Dead franchise, he also appeared in all three of Raimi's Spider-Man movies as different characters. The first Spider-Man sees Campbell play an announcer at a wrestling match, followed by an usher in Spider-Man 2. Finally, he also features as a French maître d’ in Spider-Man 3.
