Brooks Joins Finding Nemo 2

It's been nearly seven months since we heard anything about Pixar's Finding Nemo 2, which will be helmed by original director Andrew Stanton. But now Deadline Albert Brooks has signed on to reprise his role as the voice of Nemo's father Marlin.

Story details are being kept under wraps, but Brooks joins fellow returning star Ellen DeGeneres.

The 2003 animated blockbuster, which grossed nearly $870 million worldwide and won the Academy Award for best animated feature. followed Marlin as he teamed up with DeGeneres' Dory to traverse the ocean in an effort to find his son Nemo, who was caught by a deep sea diver.

Finding Nemo was re-released in 3D in September.
