The first official trailer for Sony Pictures' Brightburn showcases Brandon Breyer's various superpowers and how he uses them to terrorize everyone around him from his classmates to his own family. One scene from that footage, in which Brandon torments a diner waitress and attacks her, is now receiving more attention in the movie's extended trailer.

In this trailer, no more information is given about the plot or characters of the film, but the horror elements are clear. We don't just see the damage Brandon causes directly; we also see the path of destruction he leaves behind. His entrance causes glass to shatter from the bulbs above the waitress, damaging one of her eyes and causing to her flee before Brandon ever actually shows up in that chilling mask.

Brightburn takes a classic superhero origin story and turns it on its head: an alien child crash-lands on Earth from a distant planet and is found by a humble couple. However, instead of growing up to be a superhero, the child turns into a powerful monster.
