In director Taika Waititi's upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, Natalie Portman will return to repise her role as Jane Foster. But she won't simply return as the brilliant scientist we saw in Thor and Thor: The Dark World. This time around, Jane will wield Mjolnir to become the God of Thunder herself, the Mighty Thor.

Already, it seems like the Thor actor feels a sense of belonging to the Asgardian hammer. In fact, in a new Instagram post, Captain Marvel star Brie Larson posted a picture of herself in the Marvel Studios offices wielding Mjolnir. The photo comes with a caption that reads: "Not to be whatever, but....told you I could lift it," a reference to the actor's belief that Carol Danvers can lift the mighty hammer.

In the comments, Natalie Portman wrote a humorous warning: "Hey muscles, easy with my hammer!!!" she joked, before adding plenty of heart emojis.

In Avengers: Endgame, Steve Rogers returned Mjolnir to its rightful place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's past. As it stands in the present, the hammer was destroyed by Hela in Thor: Ragnarok. For now, there is no telling how Mjolnir will come back into play in Thor: Love and Thunder.

Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder starring Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth arrives in theaters November 5, 2021.
