Netflix's first look at Bridgerton Season 3 sees Colin and Eloise actors Luke Newton and Claudia Jessie reveal some truths about their characters while Lady Whistledown herself, Nicola Coughlan, teases her next pamphlet.

A new clip from Netflix shows Newton and Jessie sitting down to paint "in honor of TUDUM" while Coughlan provides a voiceover as Lady Whistledown. While painting, both actors exchange questions, discussing what their characters face in the upcoming season. In the end, Coughlan appears with her "own" painting, then proceeds to reveal the title of the first episode of Season 3 -- "Out of the Shadows," written by Jess Brownell and directed by Tricia Brock. She also reads a portion of Lady Whistledown's first pamphlet, giving fans a taste of what's to come.

It's Polin's Time to Shine in Season 3

Season 3 sees fan-favorite pairing Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington finally find love with one another after the latter's one-sided attraction going back several years. In the latest clip, Newton explained how Colin could not see what was in front of him largely because of how he and Penelope met as children -- a tale the actor did not give away but noted he loved when he read their story. Many fans expressed enthusiasm to see the couple take center stage in the upcoming season, though in the books, they have to wait until the fourth volume to finally find happiness with one another. This latest couple adds another kind of diversity to the already revolutionary show, seeing a plus-sized romantic lead in Penelope.

Eloise, meanwhile, must face the truth of her best friend's deception, something she finds herself struggling with as the new season opens. Jessie notes that for her character, it's Penelope's lies that crushed her the most. She also says the humiliation that comes with it, especially in light of Eloise's confrontations with Queen Charlotte regarding the identity of Lady Whistledown, plays a significant role in her distress.

Bridgerton's new season also marks the beginning of Brownell's role as showrunner, taking over from Chris Van Dusen, who served in the position for the first two series. Brownell worked on several episodes in Seasons 1 and 2 and also wrote for other Shondaland series such as Scandal, Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice.

"As we continue to expand the world of Bridgerton, we now have the opportunity to devote even more of the Shondaland fold to the Bridgerton-verse," Shondaland CEO Shonda Rhimes said. "We've worked with Jess Brownell for over a decade and have long wanted to find the right project to place in her hands. When it came time to pass the baton, I knew this unique voice was vital to the future of the show."

Bridgerton Season 3 currently has no release window.
