Brianna Hildebrand, who played the fan-favorite Negasonic Teenage Warhead in Deadpool and Deadpool 2, has boarded Persephone, a far-future sci-fi film about Earth colonists resettling in another solar system.

Hildebrand joins Mary-Louise Parker, Malcolm McDowell, Emile Hirsch and Lance Reddick, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Jeffrey Morris is attached as the writer and director, in his feature debut.

Set in the late 22nd century, Persephone follows a trio of astronauts on the ship Colony One, a transport vessel moving 20,000 colonists from a dying Earth to Persephone, a planet orbiting the star Alpha Centauri. Hildebrand will play Darcy Webb, a pilot born during the 50-year journey from Earth. With humanity’s survival on the line, she finds herself at odds with engineer Tanya Baxter (Parker), only to discover the residents of Colony One may not be alone on their new planet.

Hildebrand was the breakout discovery of 2016’s Deadpool, playing little-known X-Man Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and reprising the role in Deadpool 2 earlier this year. She has also recently joined Trinkets, a Netflix series based on the YA novel of the same name.

Starring Mary-Louise Parker, Malcolm McDowell, Emile Hirsch, Lance Reddick and Brianna Hildebrand, Persephone is seeking distribution.
